Guest Speaker
Sandy Henkel
Sandy her husband, Marc, live in Roseland, on the far south side of Chicago. She has served with Cru Inner City in Chicago for 24 years coming alongside urban leaders in ways that encourage them to pursue deep intimacy with Christ and equip them to live fully into the unique calling God has given to them.
Sandy loves serving as a spiritual director and mentor specifically coming alongside people in delight-based spiritual practices (vs obligation-base disciplines) , self-care for the long haul (vs boundary-less burnout), contemplative action (vs self-striving performance), and racial justice (vs comfort driven self-protection). She connects best with God through imaginative contemplation of scripture, through solitude, and through nature. |
